It is my great pleasure to announce you the birth of our little angel,
Nathan !
With a little week late, we entered the maternity on the 23rd to be provoked as baby was already 4kg and not in a hurry to move down at all. After a painful night, and all kind of little complications (meconium in the amniotic liquid, slow dilatation, heart beat deceleration etc..) it is by C-section that little Nathan saw us for the first time at
11.50 am on the 24th of June !
Fortunately, the doctor had the good and fast reaction as Nathan had his umbilical cord around his neck, shoulders, tummy and leg, like a little pastrami ! No wonder his was in a distress mode and did not want to come out !
We were both very touched when we first heard his cry, and Erik was able to follow him for the checks and clean up, while I was waiting in the recovery room (this c-section is painful, let me tell you, I am still not fine today, almost 2 weeks after I look like still pregnant with my big belly and it hurt inside but it was for the good cause right ?)
We are now back at home since a week, Erik is back at work today, and I am managing little Nate by myself, so far so good ! He sleeps a lot, did his first 6 hours straight last night, barely cry and is just a cuty ! He is very sweet, wake up only once at night, so we have breaks of 4-5 hours which is great, hopefully it will last !
Breastfeeding is an other story, Nathan eats very well, I know exactly when he is hungry just looking at the clock, he does not even need to cry :) ! I have no problem with milk production (I am from Switzerland, we are used to it here, I turned to be one of our Milk cow hihi !) but it hurts like crazy, I have to cream myself, and suck it up ! Tomorrow, I try the "Beast", the Medela breast pump, to store some milk in the freezer for emergencies, and to remove some breasts tension as well on the morning.
Grand-parents are going mad, my parents stop by almost everyday, my house is in there way to work so it is easy and comforting to me... Especially that I experience Baby blues at night, hopefully this will pass soon as it is very difficult for me to cope with this stage of mind... But it is normal the nurse says (I have someone coming everyday for a week to check on me and baby, courtesy of the insurance !)
So I am still trying to find my way back to little activities of mine, such as blog posting, writing, reading etc... Difficult at the moment, but we are getting there slowly !
Here are some first pictures of baby, more to come !
bienvenue à ce petit ange !!! et bonne continuation dans cette nouvelle vie qui commence remplie d'amour ... bon week-end !
